A little more science can do a whole lot of good!
I’m nearly 40 and an undergrad student studying environmental science. I started down this path 3 years ago, because I wanted affect some positive change, to do my part in slowing the destruction of the planet, that we humans seem bent on. But more importantly, I wanted to set an example for my daughter. She’s 6, and I want her to know we can make a difference, and it’s important to try to.
So, every week, I sit down with two other adult science students, and we chat (and sometimes argue) about a few of the week’s science/eviro stories. Our goal is to encourage others to do their homework, to look at the world from a slightly more scientific angle, and to have some fun at the same time. We certainly aren’t doing it for the money!
